VOCAL WILDS
The Art of Embodied Improvisation

WELCOME

Who We Are
Welcome to Vocal Wilds—a collective of artists devoted to vocal improvisation, community singing, and the embodied, untamed, instinctual voice.
Founded by TatiAnah Thunberg and Irene Soléa Antonellis in 2025, Vocal Wilds is a hub for a vibrant, evolving community of vocal improvisers, community song leaders, and experiential facilitators in southern Michigan.
We flourish as independent artists and as a collective, each bringing our own lineage, style, skill, and vision to the circles we tend. Rooted in years of personal and professional practice, we cultivate vocal music as a living field of connection, creativity, and belonging.
Each offering is co-created with the people who gather with us, the artists who lead beside us, and the more-than-human world that inspires us.
Meet the artists whose voices, practices, and lineages shape Vocal Wilds:

At The Heart of Our Practice
We believe the human voice carries ancient wisdom—of communion, lineage, and the wild intelligence woven through the natural world. Instinctual. Relational. Emotional. Ancestral.
We believe singing is our birthright—an embodied, communal practice that reconnects us to ourselves, to each other, and to our more-than-human kin. It is a practice of presence, curiosity, trust, courage, and interdependence.
We believe the wild, spontaneous voice is a teacher. It shows us where we are open, where we are guarding, and where we long to risk revealing more of ourselves.
We believe singing can reconnect us to wholeness. The voice is a bridge between inner and outer worlds, between self and community, between the known and the mysterious. Singing reconnects us to the creative life force that moves through all beings.
We believe improvisation is a doorway into profound listening. When we listen deeply to our collaborators and lean into the unknown together, a relational field opens—a space where creative trust deepens, aliveness awakens, and interbeing becomes palpable.
We believe creative practice is medicinal. Singing together supports nervous system regulation and nourishes the relational field. It melts the places we have been frozen and invites us into reconnection through play.
We believe community is needed now more than ever. When we gather to breathe, to sound, and to witness one another with tenderness and respect, we remember ourselves as part of something larger—living, interwoven, resilient, and worthy of trust.

What Singers Are Saying

JEREMY F.
What a remarkable experience of feeling, community, harmony, fun, ease, adventure, friendship, unity and possibility! Thank you for your generous, caring, capable and affirming guidance. Looking forward to diving in again.

JENNIFER F.
This community has made such a difference in my life. Through song, sharing, and love I have healed in so many ways over the years. The acceptance and love in safe space provides a personal growth opportunity that is not just me - but WE.

M.S.
What a joyful and embodied experience in song! I was able to be in a supportive, loving, allowing circle with others and share my voice through song. To experience this in such a nurturing and playful circle allowed me to tap into those quiet, shy, uncertain parts of me. There was very little room for the inner critic. What a relief!
